How to Kick Off Summer Vacation

It's not even been a week of summer vacation and the kids are already finding interesting ways to entertain themselves.  I give them points for creativity.....kind of.  See for yourself.

Me:  What's that on your face?  Have you been sucking on a black marker?? 

Middle Child:  Huh?  Nothing.  No.

Me:  What's all that black on your mouth?  Why do you have a little beard?

Middle Child:  I don't know.  There's nothing on my face. 

Me:  Look.  I'll take a picture of you.  You've been sucking on that marker!!

Middle Child:  Let me see that!!!  Oh....yeah. 

Later that day I found this scene taking place in the john.

Me:  What are you doing sitting here in the dark?  Why are there lawn chairs in here?

Middle Child:  Just enjoying the fireworks!
