FiftyLives Contest--You Could Win a Kindle Fire!

When The Second Grader was in his last year of preschool, one of his classmates had a new baby brother.  He was born just a few weeks after Baby Girl was born.  His mom and I were pregnant at the same time.  We got huge together and waved in the hallways at drop off and pick up.  She brought him in to school for the end of year program in his little carrier.  Not long after he was born, they realized he was very sick and would eventually need a liver transplant.  At 8 months old he got a new liver.  I know they were so happy to have this opportunity for their son, but also so sad for the family that lost their child to help others live.

Isn't he a cutie?

Did you know that we can each help up to fifty people with organ/tissue donation?  Are you an organ or tissue donor?  If not, you should consider becoming one.

FiftyLives strives to share the stories of organ/tissue donation with the world.  Here's a little more about them:
We each carry within us gifts enough to give life and hope to as many as fifty other people. Through tissue donation, one life given makes renewed life possible for dozens nationwide and internationally. In the restored lives of these grateful recipients, the life and memory of donors lives on.
FiftyLives.org makes the stories of these gifts available to the world. Here you can learn how life is passed on, how the gift of life is given twice: by families in their moment of grief, and by the donors themselves. Families tell how their loved ones live on through the lives of others. And recipients tell how these gifts saved and transformed their lives.
Right now they are having a contest and you have the chance to win a Kindle Fire, Amazon gift card or swag basket!  All you have to do is post a picture of yourself with a sign explaining the reason you are a organ/tissue donor.....in FIVE words only.

Check out the contest details here and enter now!  Help spread the word about organ/tissue donation.  Good luck!
