It's that time of year!  Summer is winding down and the leaves are starting to change.  Don't mourn the loss of your pool time (as I have been doing), but rejoice in what Fall brings!

The changing color of leaves....cool, crisp nights.....bonfires.......cute suede boots......and one of my favorite things.

The Old West Festival!

We went to the Old West Festival last year and had a blast.  We watched a horse riding show, got deputized, rode a covered wagon, collected wooden nickels and cowboyed up to the saloon for a rootbeer.  Middle Child and I got to wear our cowboy boots and meander around the historically accurate old west town. 

This year the Old West Festival runs from September 8 to October 7 and is located at 1449 Greenbush Cobb Rd. in Williamsburg, Ohio 45176 (just off U.S. Rt. 32, near Greater Cincinnati).  They are open Saturdays and Sundays only!  Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Rain or shine).

Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for kids ages 6 to 12.  Kids 5 and under are FREE.  Parking is FREE.  For discount tickets, click here.  If you purchase tickets online the adult price is $10 and children are $6.

This year get ready for:

• The Pickled Brothers Circus returns!
• Theme weekends are back! Cowboy Charity Weekend Sept. 8-9; Steam Punk Weekend Sept. 15-16; Native American Weekend Sept. 22-23; Old West Cinema Weekend Sept. 29-30; America’s Pastime Weekend October 6-7
• Rodeo Drill Teams and new riding shows at the Cowboy Capital Corral!
• Gun fight re-enactments
• Vintage dress
• At 10:15 a.m. each day, kids can be sworn in by the cowboys as a deputy
• Locomotive, covered wagon, horse and pony rides
• Games and panning for gold
• Daily puppet shows, magic shows and sing-a-longs
